Gerade habe ich meinen Jitterbug-Schal gewaschen und aufgespannt. Als er ins Wasser kam (Farbe Jewel – dunkles Blau, Türkis, und brombeer mit Orange und hellgrünen Akzenten), blutete das Blau wie wild aus. %kreisch Ich weiß nicht, wie oft ich ihn vorsichtig ausgedrückt und wieder mit Wasser getränkt habe, über hundert (!) mal sicherlich (eine Weile lang habe ich gezählt, um eine Vorstellung zu haben). Selbst jetzt ist das Wasser noch hellblau, wenn man ihn ausspült. %grummel Wie gut, dass ich ihn gewaschen habe, sonst wäre die Farbe sicherlich an meinem Hals gelandet (Farbe, mit der man Wolle färbt, färbt auch Haut). Und blau gibt so eine schöne kranke Hautfarbe – örks.
Today I washed and blocked my Jitterbug scarf. When it hit the water (color way „Jewel“ – dark blue, tourqouise, dark berry with orange and bright green accents) the blue was bleeding very much %kreisch. I don’t know how often I gently squeezed out the water and let it soak again, at least (!) one hundred times (I counted for some time to get an idea). Even now the water is still light blue when rinsing it %grummel. I’m indeed very happy I *did* wash it, because otherwise all that color might have ended on my neck (color that works on wool works on skin too). And blue makes such a nice sick skin color – yikes!
Ich bin mir sicher, dass die Akzentfarben einiges an Brillianz eingebüßt haben %pifpaf – und die war doch der Grund, warum ich den Strang überhaupt gekauft hatte %heul . Nun muss ich abwarten, bis das Ganze trocken ist. (Nachtrag: Jetzt ist er trocken, und es ist lange nicht so schlimm wie befürchtet. Aber nass sah das Ganze schrecklich aus!) Ich bin froh, dass ich noch einen kleinen Rest des Garns habe, so kann ich das dann vergleichen. Jedenfalls bin ich jetzt %teufel %tirade2
I’m sure that the accent colors lost some of their brilliance %pifpaf – that’s why I bought the skein in the first place %heul. Now I have to wait until everything is dry. (Edit: Now that the scarf is dry everything isn’t just as bad as I feared. But when it was still damp it looked horrible!) I’m happy I have a small leftover of the yarn so I can compare the colors.
