war ich mal wieder einkaufen, und ich habe endlich meinen Geburtstagsgutschein für Wolle Rödel eingelöst. Insgesamt waren es 400 g Topflappenwolle, von der einiges auch schon wieder verstrickt ist:
Von der blauen gab es ein Knäuel, von der roten drei, und von den beiden rechten Knäuel je zwei. Und von dem Gutschein ist auch noch was übrig geblieben…
habe ich auf einem Stricktreffen verbracht. Dabei kam ich (gaaanz zufällig – ich hatte mir im Internet natürlich was ‘rausgesucht) bei der Fädeline vorbei. Dort habe ich folgendes erstanden:
Das erste Garn in diesem Jahr. Das Blaue ist für ein Geheimprojekt, das bunte für ein Baby Surprise Jacket, und wie man sieht, wird aus dem blau-melierten und dem naturfarbenen Garn ein Paar Handschuhe mit Norweger-Muster.
When we were back from vacation, and went grocery shopping at Real, these two went with me:
No-name sock yarn that was inexpensive and can be used for mens’ socks (one of the topics for SKA October). So 200 more grams.
And now the last and best of all, we visited Wollmeise in her shop (an hour’s drive from us, so very doable) last Saturday. I had a nice talk and knittogether with Wollmeise and Dani. This is what I brought home:
The blues aren’t that blue, but more like dark tourquoise. On the left you see 300 g of Wollmeise Lace, the others are sock yarns – mostly twin and one merino 100 %. The white is to use up Wollmeise leftovers in stranded work. Please note the yellow and orange yarn. All of this is 1050 grams of wollmeisy goodness.
All of these together busted my yarn statistics for the year. But I’m happy to say that I have still 4 months to knit, so that I’ll knit up more this year than I added to the stash, which is my year’s goal. On Saturday I had bought almost 700 g more than I knit up this year. Meanwhile there is only a minus of 411 g left, because I finished two BSJs and a pair of socks since then.
So this was a major yarn haul of 3420 g of yarny goodness. It was so much fun choosing all this yarn. I’m looking forward to all the wonderful projects that I will make from all this yarn. You might notice that most of the haul was sock yarn, but then that’s what I knit most of the time. This should be enough for this year, and I don’t plan to add any more till end of December. Should be doable. Or not. We’ll see.
I also found it interesting to buy from a wide variety of sources: a chain store (Rödel), a Grocery store (Real), a LYS (maschenkunst), a fabric shop (Stoffstudio), an online shop (Marianne) and an independant dyer (famous Wollmeise). I buy when I see something I like, but most of my business went to the online shop, the local yarn shop and to Wollmeise.
So this is what I got when I was on vacation in Dormagen near Cologne (we were visiting friends and relatives there, and were staying with my inlaws):
The variegateds and the pink are for another BSJ (I’ve been knitting three of them lately), both Lana Grossa merino superfine, and the yellow soy sock yarn was for SKA. The yellow yarn is also one I haven’t tried yet. At the time I bought this I only had one yellow ball, and I wanted to be able to make at least two pairs in yellow. The yarn is from Stoffstudio Pane in Dormagen, who sell mainly Lana Grossa and Coats yarns. Yarn is only a side line for them, because they are more into fabrics and such. Another 250 grams.
When I’m at the Rhineland, I almost always make it to Maschenkunst. The owner, Daniela Johannsenova, is a friend of mine, and I have yet to walk out of her gorgeous shop without buying something (I *have* made it out of her shop without yarn, however). So this is what I got:
On the left you see one of eleven balls of Rowan Felted Tweed. Hubby looked at mags at the shop and picked out a pattern, and a yarn all on his own, and just consulted me whether I would like to knit this, and whether I could use the yarn and pattern together. The other three are sock yarns, from left to right Colinette Jitterbug, Malabrigo Sock, and another Jitterbug colorway. Together this is 870 grams of yarny goodness.

August was yarn buying month for me, and this is what I got:
It is quite some, so I’ll show you the batches as I got them. I started out with these:
These were bought at Roedel in Munich. They are for two hats for my daughter. 200 grams.
This was an order at Marianne’s online shop. I bought two yellows for SKA‘s September challenge “Yellow socks”, but one of them will not qualify. At least my eyes don’t see a yellow, it is more a brown or beige. When I laid out the colors they screamed “Fair Isle Sweater” to me, so I’m not yet sure what I’ll do. They would make wonderful colors together. All of these are either Zwerger Opal or Zitron Trekking pro natura. These are 900 g.
I’m going to show you the other batches in my next post so as to not blow this one up too much.
Der erste Wollkauf dieses Jahr stand an. Ich hatte mir vorgenommen, bis 31. März kein Garn zu kaufen. Das ist mir auch gelungen. Heute habe ich dann nach einem ziemlich heftigen Zahnarztbesuch zugeschlagen:
Ein bisschen Topflappengarn (von jeder Farbe 3 Knäuel) und ein Knäuel Sockengarn, an dem ich gar nicht vorbei konnte. Aber im Vergleich zu sonstigen Wollkäufen war ich echt sparsam: Sonst habe ich immer sehr viel auf einmal gekauft, und natürlich entsprechend Geld dabei ausgegeben. Angesichts der Wirtschaftslage werde ich das Wollekaufen etwas zurückfahren, allerdings nicht ganz aufgeben. Homo knitticus braucht Wollkäufe schließlich zum Überleben 
.
Falls mich jemand vermisst haben sollte… Ich hatte ein wunderschönes Wochenende in der Heimat beim Geburtstag einer lieben Freundin, und dann hatte ich eine Schniefnase. So langsam lässt es nach, ist aber immer noch nicht ganz weg.
Viel gestrickt habe ich nicht, außer auf der Hinfahrt am Wochenende. Ich bin mittlerweile beim zweiten Broadripple-Socken, aber der Pulli für die Tochter ist kaum noch gewachsen. Ich bin jetzt beim ersten Ärmel, aber das war ich eben auch schon vor dem Wochenende. Jetzt freu ich mich schon auf das nächste Wochenende und werde mal die Wohnung darauf ein bisschen vorbereiten – das bisschen Haushalt eben.
Ach, und auch meine Garnsammlung ist wieder etwas größer geworden: Ich war wieder mal bei Daniela in der Maschenkunst. Leider konnte ich dort nur kurz vorbeischauen, aber zwei Stränge Jitterbug und einmal Trekking pro Natura mussten unbedingt mit.

bringen ja heutzutage meist schöne Sachen. Im Strickland der Woll-Ecke (und nicht nur da) bringt der Götterbote Wolle:
Diesmal etwas ganz besonders leckeres: Meine erste Knitbox zum Thema “Eissalon” (links “Milchshake”, in der Mitte “Eisbecher” – na, bekommt ihr schon Appetit???) und dazu der Strang “Elbenhain”. Ich kann euch zwar die Farben zeigen, aber die Weichheit nicht – einfach unübertroffen. Danke, Kirsten!
Und jetzt juckt es mir gewaltig in den Fingern, da was anzufangen. Leider steht vor dem Strickvergnügen noch das Wickeln an. 
Ich weiß, meine Probleme möchtet ihr auch gern haben. 
One of the private parcel mailers in Germany is called Hermes. So as to not use the name we call this service “Messenger of the Gods.” Usually they bring nice things, and in knit land of Woll-Ecke this is of course yarn.
Extra yummi this time, because this is the first Knitbox of Indie Dyer Kirsten of Handgefaerbt. The Knitbox called Ice Saloon contained two 150 g skeins of fine merino sock yarn, one in the colorway Dolci Milkshake (on the left), the other called Sundae (middle). Then there was the irresistable colorway Elves Grove (on the right), which I had to order, too. I can show you the colors, but not how soft and smooshy the yarn is. Thank you, Kirsten!
And now my fingers are itching to cast on. But first I have to wind a ball from the skein! I know, you just would like to have my problems
Ja, es ist eine traurige Tatsache, aber in letzter Zeit bin ich ziemlich oft schwach geworden, obwohl ich natürlich immer einen Grund hatte 
Das hier ist der Einkauf von Ende Mai bei Daniela:
Oben ein Strang Silvia von Wetterhoff/Finnland, ein wunderbar weiches Lacegarn aus 70 % Merino und 30 % Seide.
Darunter die Reste (leider haben es die Knäuel nicht auf ein Bild geschafft) aus denen ich diese Handschuhe für meine Töchterlein gestrickt habe, eine Mischung aus Baumwolle und Viskose, die ein wenig glänzt. Das ist leider auf dem Bild kaum zu sehen. Insgesamt 150 g.
Dann habe ich am 14.6. absichtlich das rechte Knäuel im nächsten Bild gekauft (denn ich wollte am KIP-Tag ein nagelneues Knäuel anstricken, und keins aus dem Stash). Es sah natürlich anders aus, als ich es gekauft habe, aber ich habe eben sofort angestrickt und in 4 Tagen waren die Socken schon fertig, und so hat es nur der Rest auf das Bild geschafft. Gekauft und gestrickt wurde am KIP-Tag wie erwähnt im Lanaiolo.
Aber es drängelten sich auch noch diese zwei Knäuel Sockenwolle mit Seide in unwiderstehlichem Türkis in meine Tasche (und wurden dann schmählich vergessen und eine Woche später gerettet). Weiterer Grund für den Kauf: Diese Sockenwolle mit Seide kenne ich noch nicht, habe in dieser Richtung bisher nur Regia Silk verstrickt. Insgesamt 200 g Beute.
Ja, und diese Rettungsaktion führte dann dazu, dass ich noch dieses Garn für die Babydecke vom vorhergehenden Eintrag gekauft habe:
Davon gab es von mittelblau und grün je 3, von marineblau 4 Knäuel. Macht 10 Knäuel (= 500 g) und damit ist natürlich meine Wollstatistik ziemlich hinüber. Aber das macht nichts. Ich glaube, ohne meine Wollstatistik würde ich noch viel mehr Wolle aufhäufen, und das geht nun überhaupt nicht. Ich weiß gar nicht, wo ich die viele Wolle lagern sollte!
Merkt ihr die Steigerung, erst “nur” 150 g, dann 200 und dann 500! Wo soll das enden? Ich glaube, ich muss die nächsten Monate wieder etwas strenger mit mir sein 
Einen Grund für den großen Wollkauf gab es natürlich auch: Freunde von uns erwarten ein Baby, und dafür hatte ich nun so überhaupt nix im Stash.

hatte ich am Samstag (21.06.08). Gleich zweierlei habe ich angefangen, nämlich das erste Sockenpaar für den Summer of Socks, etwa morgens um halb acht:
Am Samstag habe ich gleich 1/2 Socke gestrickt, während meine Familie noch friedlich schlief. Der Grund, warum es dann nicht mehr allzuschnell weiter ging, war dieser:
Die Wolle für diese Babydecke habe ich auch am 21.06. gekauft (und gleich angestrickt), als ich im Lanaiolo war, die Wolle abholen, die ich am Wochenende davor dort vergessen hatte. Unterwegs fiel mir ein, dass ich für Freunde aus der Gemeinde, die ein Baby erwarten, eine Decke stricken könnte. Und ich fand auch sehr schönes Garn, eine Mischung aus 50 % Merino und 50 % Baumwolle – gut für den Übergang (das Kind kommt Ende September), aber auch noch warm genug im Winter. Und schön weich ist das Garn auch.
Auf dem Foto ist die Decke etwa halb fertig. Sehr viel habe ich am Wochenende geschafft, danach ging alles etwas langsamer.
On Saturday, June 21, 2008 I had a bad case of startitis. Like anybody else I started my first Summer of Socks pair. I knit half a sock on Saturday morning, started at about 7:30 am MEST (GMT +2) while my family was still sound asleep.
Then I went to my LYS Lanaiolo/Munich, Germany, where I accidently left some yarn on KIP-Day (June 14). There I didn’t only fetch the yarn, but also bought yarn for a baby blanket that you see on the second photo. The blanket is the reason why I didn’t knit faster on the socks. The blanket is for a baby which is due end of September, and the doctors say it will be a boy.
The yarn is a merino-cotton mix (50% of each), which is very soft, nice in hand and good to knit. I almost can’t put the blanket aside! Almost half the knitting is done on the photo. It is growing in leaps and bounds.
